LOCAL MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES

SUPPORT CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE

Through CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

Parkway members are matched to a specific child in foster care so that they can advocate for their best interests in court.

Through SCS (Southern Christian Services)

SCS cares for vulnerable children and youth through group homes, counseling, and assistance programs. We serve those in foster care and those aging out of foster care by meeting practical needs and providing respite care.

CURRENT NEEDS

Donate children’s books for their waiting room. They also need people to become foster parents or volunteer to provide respite care.

SUPPORT FRONTLINE FOSTER CARE WORKERS

At the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services and the Hinds County Courthouse

We support the social workers and court staff by providing encouragement, appreciation, and practical care as they serve vulnerable families.

CURRENT NEEDS

Donate books, puzzles, and toy magnets. Pray for social workers as they work long hours and face difficult decisions. Pray that they would feel the Lord’s presence and seek Him for wisdom.

SUPPORT THOSE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS

Through Shower Power

We serve those in our community experiencing homelessness by regularly collecting donations, serving breakfast, and volunteering at Shower Power in Jackson.

CURRENT NEEDS

We are currently collecting towels, summer clothes, socks and underwear. We are also collecting snack items for the pantry.

SUPPORT MEN OVERCOMING ADDICTION

Through FOA (Friends of Alcoholics)

We walk alongside men overcoming addiction by inviting them into the life of our church, where they can build meaningful relationships and grow in their faith.

CURRENT NEEDS

Hire FOA members for odd jobs and lawn care projects. Donate new and used men’s clothing.

SUPPORT EXPECTANT FAMILIES

Through CPC (Center for Pregnancy Choices)

We support women and families facing unexpected pregnancies by partnering with and encouraging those who provide care and support.
