Homeless Ministry

A group meets at 8:00 p.m. in the East parking lot to go and minister to the homeless in downtown Jackson.  The group takes with them clothing, hygiene kits, and meals that were prepared by a Sunday School class.  This ministry is always in need of clothing items.

 

 

Heavenly Handworks

A group of women who meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month in the new parlor to sew, knit, and crochet clothing items for a variety of ministry needs (hospitals, nursing homes, women's shelters,etc).  Contact: Patricia Sproat, 601-750-9693, Melinda Hardy, or the church office, 601-924-9912.

 

MOPS

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month (September - May) from 9:00-11:00 a.m.  It is designed to nurture mothers with children from infancy through kindergarten.  MOPPETS is the companion program for the children and provides engaging activities to keep them happy and occupied while mom refuels both emotionally and spiritually.

 

WWM (Woman, Wife, Mother)

This group is for any woman that cannot attend the daytime meetings. They meet every Wednesday evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the front foyer parlor.

 

Teen MOPS/Men's Factor

Teen MOPS/Men's Factor is our ministry to teenage mothers and fathers.  The group meets on Wednesday nights at 5:15 p.m. for supper.  Their meeting begins at 6:00 and includes Bible studies, testimonies, crafts, scrapbooking, and much more.  You can learn more about Teen MOPS/Men's Factor by visiting their blog.

 

Prayergram Ministry

Each Wednesday a group of volunteers meet in the back of the worship center to write notes of prayer and encouragement to those who are sick, lonely, grieving, discouraged and hurting.

 

 

Coffee, Conversation, & Tea

This is a ministry to Mississippi College's international students.  It meets on the 1st & 3rd Thursday of each month at M.C.'s Multi-Cultureal Building at 7:00 p.m.

 

 

Servanthood Ministry

This is a ministry to the homebound of our church who are no longer able to attend.  It provides personal contact and caring ministry to those who would otherwise be confined and isolated from friends and other believers.  Contact Gayle Garrett if you are interested in becoming involved in this ministry.

 

 

Martha Ministry

A group of women who provide special care and compassion in a time of death to those in the Parkway family who do not have other support groups within the church.
